Update to 4.0 Oct 20, 2026

⚡ What’s New in Flash Cache 4.0?

✅ Fully static cached pages
The browser checks the page’s age itself and asks for a refresh only once its minimum TTL has passed, so visits to fresh pages never start WordPress.

✅ Instant cache emptying at any size
Files are set aside at once and removed in the background, so large sites never wait or time out.

✅ New “After design changes” setting
Saving widgets, menus, Customizer settings, block theme templates or synced patterns refreshes the cache by itself. On larger sites pages are replaced a few at a time, so visitors never meet an empty cache.

✅ Cache statistics
General Settings shows static pages, PHP pages, styles, scripts and fonts with their size and count. They load instantly and recount themselves in short steps, however large the cache.

✅ Rebuilt style and script optimization
The site’s own files are read straight from disk, and each combined file is shared by every page that uses the same assets. Styles keep their media and cascade order, and scripts keep their place and order.

✅ Patterns in the order you choose
Drag them in the Patterns list: the first pattern that applies to a page decides how it is cached. There is also a new “Don’t cache” type, to keep pages always served live.

✅ Smarter PHP mode
Visits with tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid and similar) share the same cached page, a compact cache file serves each page with a single lookup, and PHP-mode pages get the same optimization as static ones.

✅ Background rebuilds
Publishing a post, bulk imports such as a WPeMatico fetch, and approved comments rebuild the affected pages in the background, so saving stays instant and each page is refreshed once at a time.

✅ Four web servers, one plugin
Apache, nginx, LiteSpeed and OpenLiteSpeed. Ready-made rules and status checks on the General Settings screen, sites in a subfolder and IPv6 addresses included.

✅ Settings in three clear screens
Cache updates, Advanced options and Optimization, each saving and resetting only its own options, with short labels and plain-language descriptions.

✅ Safer and more precise caching
Only successful GET and HEAD responses are cached, forms always reach WordPress live, and settings, cache and preload actions are reserved to users with the right permissions.

✅ For developers
New action flash_cache_clear_url to refresh the cached copy of a page: do_action( 'flash_cache_clear_url', $url ).

✅ Requirements
PHP 7.2 or later and WordPress 5.9 or later. Built for single WordPress sites.
